Our History

Be Available was founded in 2004 as The Miles Foundation — a small, faith-rooted effort to serve neighbors in practical, tangible ways. On August 26, 2024, the organization was legally renamed Be Available to better reflect its mission: mobilizing communities to serve neighbors in need.

The Boulder Hill Blitz is a neighborhood beautification initiative in Montgomery, IL where volunteers provide free home repair, yard work, and community resources to residents in need. It is one example of the place-based initiatives Be Available activates.

How We Work

Be Available connects individuals, families, and organizations who need help with neighbors who are ready to serve. Through our platform, needs are reviewed by trained vetters, posted for volunteers, and fulfilled by compassionate neighbors.

We work with individuals, churches, nonprofits, corporations, and government agencies — channeling Time, Talent, and Treasure toward the people who need it most.
